Rocky Mountains

I climbed high in the Rocky Mountains
Up past the timber line
High peaks in the moonlight
Cold and barren as this heart of mine

Ooo-ooo!  I’m missing her so bad
Ooo-ooo!  Been looking everywhere
Ooo-ooo!  Rocky Mountains just don’t care

In the lowlands where I was prowling
Too many crossroads, too few signs
On the high peaks wolves are howling
With them my poor heart cries

Ooo-ooo!  I’m missing her so bad
Ooo-ooo!  Can’t find her anywhere
Ooo-ooo!  Rocky Mountains just don’t care

Well, there’s no use looking for my heart of gold
Since they took you from me my world’s as cold as sin
Mountains high and the valleys so deep
So empty dark and I just can’t keep
Listening to hear your laughter in the wind

Way up high in the Rocky Mountains
Brave prospectors search for gold
Legend tells how twelve were frozen
Looking for the mother lode

Ooo-ooo!  I’m missing her so bad
Ooo-ooo!  This pain’s too much to bear
Ooo-ooo!  Rocky Mountains just don’t care
